Wow! It has been too long. Since I last wrote both Ken Auster (Laguna Beach, CA) and Angela Nesbit (Charlotte, NC) have been her to hold workshops!So, to begin with Ken...BRILLIANT!!! You could hear a pin drop during his incredible demo and lecture. What a master at his art!!
To begin...the focal point - his spider with its abstract web. How he was able to control the viewer's eyes with line, value, contrast and "alien" color...a color that is not found anywhere else in the work.
And, my how he is able to pull off actual gestural figures from a black blob of paint.
